My Passionate Life

Last November I challenged myself to write for 10 days in a row about gratitude. I learned so much from that effort. Having something specific I was going to blog about forced me to think more deeply, more passionately. I didn't want to waste my time or my readers' time. The posts needed to be real and not just a post to fill an imagined quota.

I've been wanting to blog again around a theme; a big idea. I've been ruminating about personal passions ever since. Living passionately is important to me. I think if you asked my husband, Jeffrey, to describe me in three words, passionate would be his first. I couldn't resist. I just asked him. I was right.

Here it is. I live big. At least on most days I do. I believe that life is better when you laugh. That laughs are better when they are loud and long. I believe that you should never miss a chance to ride an upside-down roller coaster. And that when you ride it, you should keep your hands up and definitely scream your head off. I believe that dreams are valuable in their own right, but that the best dreams have hands and feet. I believe that life is too short to waste. So turn off the TV and start talking. I believe that to live passionately, you must live with intention. And thoughtfulness.

So.

Let's think. Let's think about how we live. How we choose to spend our time. About what is important to us. And what isn't. About what brings us joy. And how we can bring joy to others. Let's think about our personal passions. Won't you join me?

I took the image above on a trip to Memphis. For more of my favorite images click here. Please join me this month for a series of posts about personal passions. I'll be posting at least every other day. I have some lovely surprises planned, too. I hope to see you around here a lot.

Hello, this is my first visit to your blog....and I've stayed quite a while perusing all the wonderful things you present here. Anyone who loves books by Rosamunde Pilcher has to be a sister of the heart!

I also noticed your signature and so of course went to look up Sursum corda - "lift up your heart" ...to God...just beautiful. I'll be back to visit some more.

Blessings.
