Things I Learned in June

On the last day of each month I plan to post a list of things I learned paired my own favorite photo from that month.  Several people asked me if I could make a Mr. Linky so we could all participate.  If you would like to play along and post a list of things you learned in June, you'll find the Linky at the bottom of the post.

Teaching summer school is not restful.  It is, however, a wonderful chance to make new friends.

When I have the time, I flit from project to project till I have about seven going at once and it takes me days to finish them all.  I love doing it that way and never mind the mess.

My Sloane really is a swimmer, and we need to make year-long swim team a family priority.

When you get great news like the fact that your Mom doesn't have cancer, you rejoice for days and weeks and probably years.

There's still nothing like sitting on the deck, petting the dogs, talking softly, and watching the fireflies.

Tweens crave time alone in their rooms.  I miss having Sloane constantly underfoot.

I know this is true: "When we do our work with excellence and integrity and diligence, it is an opportunity to worship."  I know that I will need to watch this again when the craziness of back-to-school begins in 5 weeks.

I took that picture at one of Sloane's swim meets.

I'm so glad your mother doesn't have cancer. That's enough to make any day good! phew!

BTW I got a post comment supposedly from you about Linky to my latest blog post but it didn't seem quite right, it didn't refer to the topic of my post at all, so I deleted it in case it linked to something spammy. If it was a real comment, from you, though, please re submit it.

Just so HAPPY about your Mom, Relyn! Every day feels extra like Mother's Day for you now. :o) Like you, I'm savoring those slow, sweet moments of summer--late evening, being outdoors, wearing lighter clothes & pretty pastel colors, fruit sorbet...ah, summer! Happy Days ((HUGS))

Thanks for stopping by and telling me about this. I think it's a great idea, and sometime within the next couple of weeks I'll participate.

I also have a tendency to flit from project to project, but for me sometimes the chaos becomes overwhelming, because I misjudge how long each will take.

Also, I'm glad again to hear that your mom is cancer-free. Definitely a call for years-long celebrations :) Every day should be a celebration of life, of being alive.

We don't have fireflies in these parts . . . pity. I think they would be quite lovely on a summer evening!

Also, I love that last quote. I need to remember that today, when I meet with a couple of people who tend to annoy . . . :)

That water looks so cool and refreshing; I wish I could jump in! I love your lessons learned. Yes, our girls do spend more time in their own space, but believe me, she'll always want you somewhat near. My daughter has been babysitting full time this summer and every now and then says she's missing me.
