Sunday Morning Poetry

beautiful winter

A Christmas Carol

In the bleak mid-winter
Frosty winds made moan,
Earth stood hard as iron,
Water like a stone
Snow had fallen, snow on snow,
Snow on snow,
In the bleak mid-winter,
Long ago.

Our God, Heaven cannot hold him
Nor Earth sustain;
Heaven and Earth shall flee away
When he comes to reign:
In the bleak mid-winter
A stable place sufficed
The Lord God Almighty
Jesus Christ.

Beautiful, as always. I'm just starting to get in the holiday mood - starting with "peace." I love your photography, Relyn. Always strikes a chord.

The picture so exemplifies the poem. The feeling of a chill in the air, but we can still rejoice that Jesus Christ was born.

Very nice and I love the photo. Did you take it? No tree for us this year as we are traveling for the Holidays. Whoopee!

My favorite Christmas carol! ...it's about time for me to post about it yet again too. I've not been by in quite a while and saw your name on someone's blog list so I came over for a December visit and to say hello.

Sending warmth hugs and good wishes for Christmas and the New Year your way. I see there is a tinge of sadness too, with your school and I'm sorry.
