making time for Sloane

Yesterday was my day to play Taxi Mom.
Being a working mother with a young child,
I haven't often spent a whole day escorting her around.

What a blast!
We got up early and drove to town for Sloane's first swim meet.
After that, we had a special lunch at Fudruckers.
Yum, but who really pays $10 for a hamburger?

Next, we went to Barnes and our library to browse and for Sloane to get
her free books from their summer reading programs.

She and her Daddy went shooting while I got a hair cut, and
we came back together in time to go to the last night of VBS.
What a whirlwind of a happy, blessed day.
I like being a Taxi Mom.

Love to hear a Mom enjoying this. So often, it's grumbling which one hears, about driving kids around. You are enjoying it... That which will be over, in the blink of an eye. :-)

Mmmmmm, did you know you have that dreaded Word Verification Setting on????????????????????????

but my arms about you
for a brief moment."

so for one of their hamburgers, i'd happily pay the ten dollars :)

i have't carted kids around for almost five years now....and honestly, after all the years of doing it, i'm happy for the break.
but totally and completely enjoy your time with her...now.

I enjoyed taxiing Hannah around and would make myself get up and go somewhere or do something because I knew it wouldn't last forever. Enjoy those car times! Then and at bedtime are probably the best times to listen, really listen, to our girls.

Sounds like a lovely day Relyn! I love that photo too. And of course I don't mind if you pin my photo-I would be honoured!

Sounds like a great day to me, Relyn!
They are up and gone so quickly, so it is so nice to have these times.

A good summer fun with the family... It sounds like you are having a good month of June, Relyn.

PS: Have you read The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern? It's magical, Relyn! I read it months ago and loved it. Now I'm listening to it on cd (read by Jim Dale who voiced the characters in the Harry Potter books-on-cds). I think you'd like it.

I always loved that, too
....so many wonderful conversations
while we were tucked away
in the car together.
Sweetness on wheels:)
thanks for the remember,

Oh, what a good day! I could almost taste how good it was with you... I could just cry! :o) Sweet photo of Miss Sloane too. Is that a hint of blue nail polish... FAB! Many thanks for your sweet visits to my place. And yes, all the poetry shared at my place is my own. Occasionally I share my fave poems by others. But for some months now, I'm being brave and sharing my own poems. Glad you enjoy them! Happy Weekend ((HUGS))

Swim Meets! Oh my, do I remember those. Couldn't get my son to continue when we moved to TX. Secretly, I was sort of relieved because they took up every weekend all day from morning until early evening. Your day with Sloane sounds great from morning til night...taxi mom...that definitely sums it up! Have a wonderful Sunday.

Enjoy and savor each of these moments. I would have loved just sitting and watching Sloane at her swim meet.
