I Meant To Do My Work Today

I meant to do my work today,

But a brown bird sang in the apple tree,

And a butterfly flitted across the field,

And all the leaves were calling me.

And the wind went sighing over the land,

Tossing the grasses to and fro,

And a rainbow held out its shining hand,

So what could I do but laugh and go?

Thank you all for your kind compliments. I would say, "You don't know how much they mean to me." but I suspect that you know exactly. Again, I thank you. Happy day to you all.

When it's said in poetry it sounds like a wonderful thing to do. So why do I sometimes feel guilty when I take the time to just be in the world?

Thanks for your lovely blog.

Love your blog. I stumbled on it because I was looking for images to incorporate into a quilt. I love the poem and thought is would be perfect for a summer themed wall hanging. Thanks for sharing your work.

Oldies, but Goodies
