Counting My Blessings

lists

parties

blogging

new friends

great books

second graders

Jeffrey's new job

sitting by the fireplace

two jobs in unsteady times

a trip to Disney this time last year

a pretty, cozy house that we can afford

a big backyard with a hammock and swing set. cows and barns just over the fence

a happy, healthy daughter. tucked in bed, sleeping sweetly

receiving and giving compassion

living on a budget and saving, too

the perfect ice. found only at Sonic

so many plays and Broadway shows

dreams I made come true. for myself, on my own. for others, just because.

dreams others made come true for me. for love.

feeling content. really and truly content

having enough. and then some.

you. and you. and you. and YOU.

I saved this image from the Internet a long time ago. I called it Fireplace by Pippa. Who in the world is Pippa? Anyone recognize it? I'd love to give credit.

Lovely list! I agree Sonic has the best ice...I love a cherry limeade on a hot day (or cold).

Dear Relyn, to you and your family I wish also all the best for the new year, which - I hope - will be filled with sunshine and joy! These last months I didn´t visit very much other blogs (I mostly did it during the night :)), just because of lacking time and all the work in our house. But I hope to be back soon.
That picture with your husband and daughter is very pretty. I would like to have such a photo with my little family, but sometimes I need more courage to go to a professional photostudio :)
I don´t know where the picture on top of your post comes from, but it looks comfortable and cosy.
Love and greetings, Marjolijn

Relyn: Hello! I left you a comment about the "perfect layouts" my 1.1.09 blog entry. You are Miss R. ;) The LOs do not have to be perfect; they just have to symbolize your rich life.

I've started working on my album. If you would like some pointers, please let me know!

I posted my Day 1 photo.

Go shoot some pics!

And of course... YOU*

At the end of the day, or the season, or the year... how incredibly comforting to know you are here, a friend who needn't even be close by, yet always resides in a corner of my heart.

Dear Relyn,
finding you, and feeling connected to you as a sister and an artist and a weaver of dreams, is a beautiful thing indeed.
You were a gift in the late waning days of 2008 that I shall carry with me into 2009... i feel so blessed to call you *friend*

Oh dear Relyn...you have a beautiful way of inspiring me to see gratitude in everything...no matter how small the thing.
I always leave your fireside feeling hopeful and content and full of thanks for the many gifts in my life.
YOU are one such gift.

Love you
xo

Relyn, I clicked on your label "a habit of gratitude" because I simply want to dwell in gratitude. I love counting my blessings and wallowing in contentment, even when I have to seek it out of a day full of discontent. So to read your lists of gratitude and blessings is so uplifting. I've been wanting to do a post like this, and you've inspired me to do it sooner rather than later. I think positivity and finding the good in all things, even crap days, is contagious and causes others to stop their negative thinking. You are a gem!

Oldies, but Goodies
