A placid, sweet-faced donkey named Bentley patiently carried a young Mary on his back.
You had to grin when you noticed Mary's gym socks peeking out below her hem.
A small choir of baby angels in white satin dresses, gold tinsel halos, and feathered wings;
all so excited, so beautiful.
A crowd of rowdy shepherds herding their single sheep; named Doug.
You had to grin when you noticed Doug nibbling on the toes of nearby little girl.
A choir of adults singing carols to tell the Christmas story.
You had to grin when the young guitar player and drummer began to rock Joy to the World.
And then the shepherds moved to the manger, in front of the angel choir.
Hmmm...
Tough to see around those big boys.
One little angel couldn't see at all. And that just wouldn't do.
So she stood on her tippy-tippy toes,
propped herself on two sets of shoulders and peeked around.
No way was she going to miss seeing what was in that manger.
And it hit me.
That's exactly what the angels did in heaven that night so long ago.
They were so excited they just couldn't wait to see for themselves.
They just had to sing about it.
They filled the very heavens with their song.
Picture that.
A multitude of the heavenly hosts.
Filling the sky.
Proclaiming
Glory to God in the highest.
And on Earth peace, good will toward men.

Hi Relyn,
Always have magical moments, the nativity plays. Your little angel couldn't be more angelic!
ah, Christmas pagaents! You reminded me of one of my favorite Christmas memories--and a post sure to be written before Christmas! Love, love, love your view of Christmas! Thank you! By the way, I want to eat that little angel up! Adorable!!
What a wonderful description of these magic moments. I wish I lived back then and was able to here the angels!
Many Christmas blessings!

Best posting of the year
Bless your church for doing this...I thought no one did this anymore
and your thoughts about angels peeking to see the Christ child...priceless
What a lovely Christmas pageant. I wished I had taken my camera to church yesterday for our Christmas pageant. The angels had tinsel halos that looked so sweet, but no satin dresses. A lovely picture of a very sweet angel. And how exciting to have a real donkey and a real sheep. We had a little girl dressed as a cow. Very funny.
and what an adorable angel she is. so beautiful.
wonderful description
Sooo very, very sweet... What joy and wonder! Our flight to the USA was cancelled due to bad snowy weather on the east coast... so we are waiting for a new flight on Wednesday... Stopping by to say hi while we wait...LOL! Happy Holidays, Relyn! :o) ((HUGS))
What a lovely Christmas post... and what a beautiful little angel! Have a blessed week....
beautiful.
This was so wonderful - I haven't seen a nativity play in years and have been longing to just "crash" one somewhere. I don't think anyone would mine. And I'll tell you a secret. This time of year I cannot stop thinking of angels, I listen to music that sings of angels, I can just picture them behaving exactly as you described. Bless you dear Relyn for this - my eyes teared up and I laughed & laughed at the same time.
