no list tonight

No list on this Wednesday evening.
My head is full; just buzzing, actually.

I went as a chaperon with Jeffrey to his high school's prom.
I've been working on the few pictures I took.

Jeffrey asked me tonight if I would go back and do it again:
high school. Prom and all that stuff.

Heck yeah! I was good at being a teenager.
I loved being a teenager
! I said.

I've spent the last hour with the mostly inane words written in my yearbook;
Don't change. You are so sweet. I will miss you.

Bah.
Why do most people struggle to say what lives in their heart?

I've spent the last hour remembering all the fun
and the laughter that didn't make it into those inscriptions.

Would I do high school again?
Heck yeah! I was good at being a teenager.

But, you know what?
I'm even better at being exactly what I am, exactly right now.

a wife
a mother
a teacher

and maybe, just maybe...
a photographer.

You are good at being all those things. The pictures are great. Would I go back? No, I like being who I am now. The only thing I don't like about being the age I am is the aches and not being able to do some of the things I used to do, but I like who I am now!

Wonderful photos, Relyn, and as always your works pair so well with the pictures. The teen years were not may favorite time... I'm love NOW so much! So no going back for me, I've found bliss now. :o) Happy Day ((HUGS))

You are good at everything Relyn and photographer can be added to that list! Prom? How fun! I think the idea is better than the memory- at least for me. Not so fun. Going back to be a teenager? Perhaps but of course with all the knowledge and wisdom I have right now though. Have a wonderful day~~~

I would love to be a teenager again knowing what I do now!...otherwise I think I will just continue enjoying my present age...But going to the prom as a chaperone looks like a lot of fun!...Did you dress up too?...Love these photos...

Very sweet and touching post Relyn, to be in my teens was tender, sweet and naif but also insecure and dramatic, so definetely to be in my current age now is perfect because of the wisdom, confidence and serenity I have got now! Hugs and nice weekend!

I'd only do it again if I got to bring all I know now!

i wouldn't go back....today is good.....but, to only have to worry about an algebra test and nothing else, does feel a bit refreshing at the moment.....

I gave myself ten quick minutes to explore this afternoon, stumbled upon your gentle fireside, and found an oasis. I wanted to curl up and let it flow over me like a stream across tired, sore feet. Really, I have to leave now but not before pent up tears were flowing freely, releasing a lump in my throat I'd swallowed sometime this morning. What a beautifully life-giving spot you've created. I'll be back ...again and again.

Hello Relyn~
Stopping by to say great pictures ~ you captured the night beautifully. I would love to go back to high school if I could wear the skirt in the first picture for prom! Love you!

Definitely a photographer.

I wouldn't do high school again. I wasn't much good at it the first time 'round. I'd do college though. :) Then again, I am pretty fond of where I am now.

I love prom pictures! I can't get enough of them. They're all completely wonderful. I love high school...even though I'm still in it. Does that count? :)

I think we had the same yearbook! But I know what you mean -- I loved high school, but I love my life now, too, and I'm better at it, to boot!

I remember when I was in high school, I was sitting in the gym with my friends, saying that I never wanted this year to end..never wanted to leave school.
And then when I got out, and tasted a whole new type of freedom...you couldn't pay me to go back!

Oldies, but Goodies
