Sunday Morning Poetry

Dancing Baby
I felt you dance into me.
Oh, some babies are born
of hot, wide passion

other in momentary indifference
with untroubled sleep
the real reward.

But you danced in
with the moon waxed
and your daddy stinging
a love song to the sky

a song with my name and yours
ribboning through it
until there was a chain so long
in a voice so strong

you had no choice
but to follow it
to join our joy
to dance into my belly

and rest untroubled
for nine lovely months
until you were ready to sing
your own love song.
~ Laurie Lico Albanese

I think I will faint with the beauty of this one
If only every baby had parents like these
and they were a poem in their mother's heart
beautiful Relyn

Beautifully said, but I have the feeling maybe some mums wouldn't be quite so euphoric?! :0)

Love your Sunday Morning Poetry! It's one of my favorite things to check out on Sundays! I'm heading on to school now ~ hope I see you there or maybe not, because that would mean you were doing something else ~ maybe something totally fun and meaningful or making a memory, or... <3

Such beautiful lines; a baby conceived in love. And I love the beautiful delicate intimacy of that flower; it does suit the poem well.

Hi Relyn,

thank you so much for visiting my blog and taking the time to write sweet words. I am quite often a quiet visitor to your cosy fireside and have been looking in to see how Arlen is...am so happy that he is mending.

This poem is incredible; it took my breath away. Thank you for introducing me to it.

Blessed be and a virtual hug to you :~)))

Oldies, but Goodies
