blizzard

leaden skies

It's a blizzard in these parts.
A real one. You know... where the radio reports,
"We haven't seen snow like this since 1913."

It's the best kind of blizzard, too.
No wide-spread power outages, powdery snow, bright sunshine.
Just gorgeous.

Today has been spent with the half-bloods (Sloane),
fairy tales (Relyn), and with books (Jeffrey). It's been
full of fires, romping, shoveling, and relaxing... and not much else.

There's no school tomorrow either.
Maybe then I'll be productive.
Maye not.

The shot above is from last year's snow. We'll see what I get this year... later.

Sounds like a wonderful way to spend a blizzard. :) Every once in a little while it's nice to have our world slow to a crawl and force us to slow down with it, isn't it? Hope you enjoy tomorrow, too. :)

Heck no, don't be productive! Except that if I got to stay home I'd be the same way! We have school: No Matter What! I've worked here for 21 years and we have had less than 5 in all that time and two of those was only because we had no power!

Sometimes nature has to take hold of us and make us all slow down a bit and realize that simplicity is very nurturing.

LOVE your photo! Enjoy your day.

Blizzards are the best part about winter because they bring enforced quiet time.

I have been thinking of you as we listened to the weathermen talking of your blizzard. Glad to see that you can enjoy the peace and beauty that goes along with a snowstorm as long as there is warm shelter and a good book!

Oh I'm so glad your power
stayed on and the fires burned
brightly....and all snowed in
together.
Perfect:)
Thanks for keeping us posted;
I wondered and prayed
as i heard of the storm.
Glad it was gentle with you.

I am just letting nature be in charge here, and that means not trying to go anywhere, not trying to accomplish too much. Reading, naps, making cookies, keeping warm. Simple list.

Hope you and yours are warm and well.

See, you know just how to spend a snow day. Ours was very similar. Books and shoveling and making soup. Those are the days I cherish most. xo

Oh, you've got to love a good snow day ... or several!

That sounds like a perfect snow day. Here it was ice. There was no school all week and lots of powers outages in the area (my hubby works for the power company). So, we don't get to be cozy in this kind of weather...he has to leave and work very long hours. I think I'd like winter a lot more if he got to be home in the ice and snow!

Ours was a good blizzard, too -- no damage, power outage, and easy to get about in within 24 hours! But so fun to have a snow day!
