Put Something In
Draw a crazy picture,
Write a nutty poem,
Sing a mumble-grumble song,
Whistle through your comb.
Do a loony-goony dance
'Cross the kitchen floor,
Put something silly in the world
That ain't been there before.
~ Shel Silverstein
The crazy picture is from Violet the Pilot by Steve Breen.

Happy sunday to you!
Beautiful...i love this poem...
'Put something silly in the world
That ain't been there before.'
And make all the diff that there is to make :)
Thanks for sharing it Relyn
Hi Relyn,
This is a fun poem - haven't heard it before.
I often put something silly in the world that ain't been there before - often unintentionally ;0)
I particularly like squeezing custard through my teeth if a meal time is getting a bit aerated (as it sometimes does with 2 teenagers). I defy any one to stay grumpy when their mother has custard extruding through the gaps in their teeth!!
Have a lovely day,
xx
I hadn't paid much attention to his poetry and stories until I saw your blog. He's great, isn't he!! I love the invitation, too, I put it in my journal. Blessings Relyn, Diane
Sunday grinning:):):)

happy thoughts to entertain ...
"Mumble-grumble song" sounds like the sort of noises my stomach makes when I'm hungry :)
I liked this Silverstein snippet - a poet who reminds you to keep the best of childhood in your heart.
You know my heart is tender when I read Shel Silverstein. He puts into words what sings to my heart.
I'm a big fan of Silverstein's poems! This one's great.
I'm having a giveaway over at my place to celebrate my 2-year blog anniversary, and I just wanted to let you know since it would make me pleased as punch if you were entered to win the prize!
Hope you have a beautiful week, Relyn!
xoxo Gigi
Very fun verse & image, Relyn! I'm liking the "loony-goony dance"! Husband & I were doing "improvisational dancing" yesterday... it was hilarious! No, we didn't film it and put it out on YouTube. Some things are best not seen. ;o) haha... Happy Day, my friend ((HUGS))
I've looked like that for the past couple years ... hmmm...:)
And I love this poem.
A wonderful challenge put forth by Mr. Silverstein.
like..."always sprinkle pepper in your hair." xox
Love the poem and the photo! Makes my morning smile!
Hope you've turned the medical corner and are feeling much better!
