Week 39 of the Wednesday Lists
I was just visiting a friend and she mentioned that she hates reading more than one book at a time. I had to laugh because I always read several at once. Then, I got happy. Because now I have my Wednesday list for this week. Thanks, Eccentric Lady.

9 or 10 Books at a Time...
* second grade read aloud - There is always at least one chapter book for read aloud in my classroom. My biggest surprise last year was how much all my students loved the Addy series of American Girl books. Boys, too. What about you? How many books do you read at one time? Do tell.
* second grade story books for lessons - At least three a week, depending on the topics we're covering.
* family read aloud - Jeffrey and Sloane began the Lord of the Rings trilogy during their summer road trip to Oregon. We're still working on that one.
* professional book for work - Right now I am reading two; one I chose and one that was assigned. Guess which one I like better?
* fun book for personal book club - We just finished All Over But the Shoutin' by Rick Bragg.
* at least one non-fiction book - Full disclosure: This one usually lives in the bathroom and I read it in snatches while I am doing my makeup and drying my hair. Lately I've been reading Clinton Kelly's books.
* at least one novel - I just finished Matched by Ally Condie and loved it.
* audiobook - I also always have an audiobook going. I spent most of the summer listening to Jane Austen again.

OMG...how do u find to do everything else, with so much rreading!!!! :O....but WOW, it must be so much fun :)..happy reading
Right now I'm primarily reading short stories, so I'm dipping into several books at once. But when it comes to novels or non-fiction books, usually no more than two at a time. Usually :)
I've never gotten into books on tape. Maybe I should try them sometime.
I'm usually a one-book-at-a-time person as I get so engrossed in the characters.
Great post, Relyn, and wonderful choices. In the past, I usually read 3 or 4 at once. But very different subjects. Never two fiction at once but fiction plus biography, non fiction, gardening, photography, poetry or essays. You remind me that my reading has dwindled as the pace of everything else has magnified. xoxo
Usually two at a time, one to learn and grow, then one for pure pleasure.
Right now I am reading The Greater Journey, Americans in Paris by David McCullough and just starting The Wild Rose by Jennifer Donnelly. I have Plate to Pixel waiting in the wings, plus a whole pile of fictions. I get a bit nervous when the pile gets down there and off I go to my Amazon Wish List. Books and Tea are my addiction.
I buy books at one go, especially during sales. Currently, I have with me a stack of Gerald Durrel, Edward De Bono and a few books by Paulo Cohelo.
You know, I use to always have mulitple books going at once, but lately it's just been one at a time .... thanks to stress, I think it's all I can handle! :)
I guess I'm usually reading at least four books at a time. Sometimes I'll put one of them down for a while and start another, then go back to the first book--so maybe it's probably more like 6 or 7 books at a time, in a way!
A lot. Unless a book is one that I absolutely cannot put down, I am usually in the middle of 3-7 books from the library at any one point, with bookmarks in another bunch in my bookshelves. :)
