it only comes once every four years...

make it a good one

As a kid, I was always fascinated by February 29th.
How could a day arrive only once every four years?
Come to think of it, I am still fascinated.

This year my class will be celebrating with a BIG Leap Day party.
We're having pizza and popcorn and Twizzlers, of course.
We're also going to have leap frog races down the hall.

Yes, down the school hallway.
Won't it be fun?
I do believe in making memories.

What are you doing to celebrate Leap Day this year?
Better make it good,
you won't have this chance again for a while.

i will begin by being
**awake** to it, as
you have just gifted
me to be, through the
joy of leaping children.
thank you, dear friend.

Q: What are you doing to celebrate Leap Day this year?

A: Making some changes in how I'm going to live my life henceforth. Rather like New Years Resolutions, but with "leap" in them.

Yay for leap day! What a way to celebrate!

I'm celebrating with a giveaway. I hope you will enter, my sweet friend.

I loved, loved, loved your comments over at my place the other day. It meant so much to me that you paid a long visit and had much to say. Someday we'll get to swap "comments" face to face. That will be a celebration, indeed. xoxo Gigi

That's a sweet post, I haven't actually thought about it in detail... I guess that I'm just happy that every four years my cards and presents actually arrive on time as my birthday is on the 1st march ;-)

Thanks so much for your lovely comment on my blog, I really appreciate it. Have a lovely evening, Love from London xo

I think Leap Year should be a legal holiday. Every four years you get a day at the worst time of year when it seems spring will never come just to BE! Happy Leap Year, my friend!

I should have visited you this morning. I do wish I had taken a picture of my students leaping today. Sometimes I get tunnel vision when it comes to the limited time I have them. But a good memory and a once-in-four-years kind of day is certainly worth leaping for.

Don't you love an unexpected reason to celebrate?! I can't say I did much. I did tell my wee nephew, while chatting on Skype, Happy Leap Day, while leaping in the air. And ended the day with a big chocolate shake, with whipped cream and a cherry! :)

As a kid I was fascinated by people having a birthday on 2/29, as I thought it meant they didn't age as quickly :) Good to see people taking joy in this. Another event I'm looking forward to this year is the Summer Olympics. I barely watch any sports/athletics, but the Olympics are different.

Hi Relyn!
I was susposed to sky dive...yes...that is right...skydive...but it was canceled due to weather...so...although it won't be on Leap Day...in a few weeks...I will try again...to fly, or free fall...or float...if only for a few minutes...just to say I did!

This really makes me miss being a kid. It came...it went...but I did think about how exciting it was when I was a child. I miss that feeling these days!

Oldies, but Goodies
