It's spring...

part of the mural at the Philbrook

It's the most delicious morning.
I woke up a bit ago. No alarm, no place I needed to be, nothing particular I needed to do.
I stayed in that sleepy haze for a while, enjoying the blue tinged room, watching the light turn from gold-edged to bright white.
Stretching and feeling the soft cotton sheets against my skin.
Thinking that I still have five days left of spring break.
Smiling.

Sloane is still sleeping soundly; she never sleeps this late.
We made plans last night for today.
We will spend the morning reading and the afternoon playing.
I think I might take her out on a girlfriend date to a tea room.
Then to the bookstore for a special treat. Or two.

Just now, I can hear the birds singing, and
feel the breeze coming through the open windows.
The house smells fresher, alive.
I can see trees starting to flower.
It's spring. It's spring and all is right with the world.

Beautiful thoughts. Relaxation leads to such a wonderful sense of clarity, doesn't it? Enjoy your day.

indeed, spring does seem to be really here; I saw a fat robin on my walk a few minutes ago. :)

I've never been to a tea room before but it sounds like a perfectly relaxing way to spend the day. Enjoy your time with your baby girl.
