a passion for simple pleasures

Today's guest is the creator of what might just be the most beautiful blog on the web.  Georgiana Lane is an incomparable photographer, a wordsmith, a generous soul, and a loving friend.  If I used even a fraction of the superlatives her talent deserves, you would think I exaggerate.  I'll show you instead.  I know you are about to fall in love with Georgiana, if you haven't already.  I  am so pleased point you to more of her goodness here, here, and here.
Inevitable, one might imagine, that the increasing complexities involved in the simple matter of living would engender in us wistful and fond backward glances down the tracks of time, our own and those of others. When a book and a sturdy tree under which to read it were the only ingredients needed for a perfect day. It needn't even to have been a particularly good book – just the act of reading nestled in the roots of a friendly old oak made an ordinary day a memorable one. The past seems full of such days and moments. But a pause, a deep breath and an observant glance around shows that they are still with us – the first brave snowdrop appearing in spring, the screech of bicycle brakes in a laughter-filled summer afternoon, the aroma of homemade applesauce cooling as autumn's embrace steers us toward the bleak beauty of winter. Each offers a chance to celebrate and revel in the uncontrived, the unadorned, the essential and the most beautiful, indeed, the very best of each of us.

Beautiful photos. I adore the idea of uncontrived. There's so much planning, organizing, doing anymore. Just being is a rare commodity that I long for.

Lovely! I do on occasion visit her blog, but rarely have I left a comment. Her thoughts and photos are beautiful here and I can just imagine that day sitting under a tree with a book.

Georgiana's photos are so feminine and pretty! She described a perfect spring day, too.

Oldies, but Goodies
