making time to appreciate my home

over Sloane's bed

I was thinking today about how easy it is to get complacent;
about how we often take the things we see each day for granted.
the living room

You know what I mean:
top of the computer armoire

like when your child spends the night away and when you see her again,
you are struck anew by just how beautiful she is.

Or the way we forget to notice our home sometimes;
the very home we worked so hard to make just right.

I decided not to do that today.

Instead, I walked around and took pictures of the little corners of my home;
our bed

the places I love most.

 How blessed I am.

Oh my gosh! I have practically that same black leather chair! (It could be the same one, if yours happens to be from Pottery Barn. ;)

Also, you have so many books!

What a beautiful home. I can feel your presence in it.

Thanks for giving us these personal glimpses of your home. I love the cozy, comfortable feel, that says "home". I think that's what we all strive for in our home. You've done it very well!

Love this post. Your home is beautiful and the idea behind this post is beautiful as well. We all forget how much we have because we get so accustomed to having it. Thanks for the reminder.

What gorgeous book shelves full of books in your living room! I've never had enough space for all of my books. You make it look marvelous!

Your "making time" posts have been hitting home with me.

Lovely post, my Dear. We need to stop and pay attention... Especially to what is right around us. :-)

And I do love to get peeks into the places where Dear Blogging Friends live, their lives.

The Sparkle Room!!! I'm a new reader. PLEASE, explain the Sparkle Room. And more pics, perhaps? Please.<---See, I am very polite. So you will *have* to honor my requests. -giggggles-

Beautiful. It's good to be reminded of all the things we should be grateful for and view with appreciation and love.

My favorite in all the photos is the reading corner in the last photo :) Cozy and comfy for a good long read.

I saw that you have a mini library in your home, i envy you for that. Reading enriches us, it make a notch smarter, there it can ruled out as part of
personal investing.

I'm with Auntie: you have a Sparkle Room?!! Please tell us more!

Your home is lovely, and you're quite right to point out how important it is not to take our homes for granted.

Hey, thank you for the peak into your home, Relyn. It's so neat! And is that a picture of a geisha's red lips over the bed?

Oldies, but Goodies
