making time to drive

When I was a teenager one of my favorite things to do was drive.
I don't mean the way all teenagers love to drive; I mean, drive.
There's a special recipe to driving, as opposed to just driving.

First, you can't need to get anywhere at all; you have to be doing it just for pleasure.
Second, you need loud tunes, 80s rock works very well.
Third, all your windows must be down.
This works any time of day, but late evening is best.
You must sing loud and punctuate the song with long yells out the window.
Note: you can do this alone, but it's much more fun with a boisterous girlfriend.

That, my friends, is how you drive.
Give it a try.  It's more fun than you think.
Something about the wind and the road and the music...

I took this picture out the window today while I was driving.  I know, I know...

This brings back memories. I still belt out my tunes a little loudly, but I usually keep my windows up!

And a tall, cool beverage, too! After all, a girl gets parched after belting out her favorite tunes! :)

Good times. (And thank you for NOT saying that you were throwing beer bottles at signs while you were driving. I would have to rethink our blog/friendship! I have friends that talk about this, and I am too much of a rule follower for the drinking and driving thing!) And you know what else, I think we can still do this when we are 70+! Simple pleasures are forever!!

I haven't driven like this in a very long time. What fun! Yes, it is!
