I counted today and there are 25 days left of my summer.
I go back to work on August 6th.
By then I will be ready, but just now I crave 25 more days just like the ones I've enjoyed so far.

I've been spending my days with a girl who most often smiles just like that.^

We swim and play volleyball.
We read and write and have lots and lots of playdates.
We laugh and chat and cook and watch old episodes of Chopped.

Sloane has grown up a lot this summer.

Our time together is often more like two girlfriends than parent and child.
She's not a teenager yet, but I can see it from here.
And, you know what?

It's going to be great!

she will be your friend....forever.
i am blessed to have a daughter who is my closet friend. for years, you can't be. you have to be the parent. but then that ends and the friendship that was always there, blooms and it's beautiful !!

I agree with Beth--you'll be friends forever . . . much like my mom and I! I've always had friends who don't understand how a mother can be a friend; but I know . . . we're the lucky ones!

I'm so happy that you're having such a fun and relaxing summer. I'm lucky that I get along so well with my teenage daughter. My dearest wish is that we will be friends once she's grown up.

Savor each day! I can't believe you only have 25 days left, that is so much earlier that here. How wonderful to have this precious time with Sloane.

Isn't this the best? I discovered that same thing when my girls were Sloane's age. Lots of long walks and chick flicks. Still love spending time with them. Tell Ms. Sloane that her freckles are just adorable! She is lovely!

As summer slips away, it sounds like you have the right idea about how to spend your last 25 days. You and Sloane will always remember these moments.... Enjoy the rest of it! (Mine is down to only one full week, and I'm not quite ready to say good-bye to summer.)

Enjoy your last couple of weeks!

I am so happy that you are enjoying your summer, but the best part is enjoying the time with your daughter. They do indeed grow up so fast. :-)

@Relyn u know what I love when I read your posts about u and sloane, the beauty of the mother daughter relationship, and how it enriches your life as well as sloane's, also the fact that sloane is so blessed to have a wonderful mother like you and the amazing job you are doing as a mother. I miss having all this and then I rejoice that there are people who can experience what I long to.

Love to you both :)

Yes! It is going to be great...especially since you both have so much shared time together and enjoy doing similar things. Enjoy every minute of your 25 days left. I am on the countdown too. Homeschooling a sophomore son is going to be interesting!! Actually, he is super easy, enjoys learning, and is motivated by fear of us taking away his precious computer games! Ha!

Beautiful girl and lovely vacation. Mine has just started and lasts less than 25 days, but I'm so going to enjoy it. Just being, and just being with our kids. Love.

Oldies, but Goodies
