Friday Faves

I was trying to decide if my Friday Faves fit in the personal passions category when I realized that I am passionate about every one of the topics represented here.  I love music.  Some days I feel as though I live to read.  I love to laugh.  I love to create, but even more to celebrate great ideas.  I love my iPhone, and sweets, great quotes, blogging, and Pinterest.  I am passionate about short films and photography, too.  So, from me to you.  Happy, passionate Friday.

* A Song: "Feelin' Nothing" by Kristin Kelly

* Great (but very dark) Read: Darling Jim by Christian Moerk

* A Lesson: Early this week I'd had a terrible, terrible day and I couldn't seem to shake it off even hours after I'd gotten home.  Finally, I grabbed my camera and spent about an hour photographing the fading tulips on my table.  When I was finished, my attitude was better and my spirit was renewed.  It was a good reminder of how important it is to make time for activities that feed your soul.

* Something to Make: a striped umbrella like the one made by Jessica Quick

* Tasty Treat: lemon squares from Birds on a Wire

* Images of the Week: Dark Rituals by Laura Makabresku

* Anticipating: Another girlfriend photography date tomorrow.

* APPspiration: Halftone for more photoplay

* A Post for decluttering inspiration: Holding on to Sentimental Things by Small Notebook

* Quote of the Week: "For me success is having the respect and love of people who truly know you.~ Dame Judi Dench

* PINspiration: Faded feminine beauty by Emma Duckworth

* Film Fancies: Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore by William Joyce

* BLOGspiration: Chasing Lightning Bugs

* In Case You Missed It: More SOOJ

I like the photo. I adore tulips, in all of their glory & decline. You make a compelling case for using unhappy energy to feed your soul. I need to remember your lesson. Very smart.

Hi Relyn,
I am glad that photographing the tulips brightened an otherwise not so good day. We need these things as often as possible I think.
Thanks for all the lovely links, I enjoyed them all, but especially the blog you linked to and the faded feminine beauty-just beautiful!

How interesting to read how you lifted yourself up at the end of a bad day. Yes, even the end of a flower's life is beautiful.

You are absolutely right about how important it is to do something you enjoy or as you said it, "make time for activities that feed your soul." I'm looking forward to visiting your links tomorrow when I make time to feed MY soul!
