August Break, 6 & Friday Faves

Sloane informs me this is actually a groupie.  I took it, though, so I am counting it.
Today's prompt: selfie

* Quote of the Week: "The meaning of life is to find your gift.  The purpose of life is to give it away."  ~ Picasso

* Something to Read: ten books

* Song of the Week: Eight Months by Thea Gilmore

* Images of the Week: a Flickr love story, by David and Whitney Tuttle
(This is my favorite find all week.  Makes me smile and smile and smile.)

* Learn Something: "How Merv Griffin Came Up With that Weird Question/Answer Format on Jeopardy" at Smithsonian

* To Touch Your Heart: Helping the smallest in a big way

* Anticipating: Students come back to school on Tuesday.

* PINspiration: Screen Goddesses, curated by me

  * In Case You Missed It: Making Time...

* Some Things I Love: my classroom, helping friends design and decorate their classrooms, the perfect blue of Sloane's eyes, the hot dogs at Sam's Club, hammocks and tire swings, my Rowenta iron, garden fresh tomatoes with a little sprinkle of salt, UTZ cheese balls, recycling, pretty laundry rooms, silver glitter, Japanese fishing floats, one more long weekend before school begins

Happy weekend, friends.

I would be very surprised indeed if that is a quote from William Shakespeare, but it is nevertheless a great sentiment!

Relyn you have been blogging up a storm! I'm the opposite - hardly a moment to spend reading blogs, but for some good reasons. I love the photo here - what my friend called a "onesie" when talking to her teenage daughter!
