This week is parent teacher conferences in my school district. We use a student-led format, which makes the child the real star of the show. I really love conferences because they are a wonderful time to connect with families and make a real impact on individual students. It is also a week of at least 12 hour work days. I probably won't be around much, but I wanted to leave some beauty and inspiration behind.
May your week be full of color.
The images are scans of old greeting cards. Aren't they lovely?

wow i really love this second shot. the colors are so beautiful - muted to a soft patina all worn with age.
of course i love the first one too because i have a weakness for anything sunflower.
that's interesting how you do the parent/teacher conference but that must be a very tiring week for you.
have a great week.
Don't work to hard Relyn.
Well be waiting for you.
Love the pics.
Angelica
I agree, the colors in that second photo are just lovely - what an eye you have!
thank you for the work you do ~have a great week and your images are so special!
Hope you are having a great week, Relyn:)
I know the exact week you are having! Those 12 hour days are killers, but meeting with parents (esp. child-lead!) are great. Your students are soooo very lucky to have you as their teacher.
I love your attitutude towards parent-teacher conferences because many teachers in Palo Alto dread them. It's difficult to live up to the demands of the average Silicon Valley parent. I have no delusions in believing that I'm any better than the average Silicone Valley parent. I wish it was different.
Enjoy your busy week and try to take care of yourself.
how lucky your students are to have such a dedicated, caring teacher. hope your week is going well.
Thanks for the flowers and enjoy your time with the parents and kids.
i wanna wear that purple dress and sit in that purple chair with a bouquet of those sunflowers on my lap. we will be here when you get back :)
xo
What a lovely and inspiring blog you have. I like your list of happy things on your sidebar. Your positive energy and inner beauty shine brightly.
The colors in the second pic are amazing. I hope you take a bit of time for you during this time. ; )
What an important job you have ... and thank you for leaving that image. Blessings to you, Armchair Queen
Wow! These pictures are so wonderful!
The sunflowers look as though they are running right for you, ready to crush you with a big warm sunny hug!
