Pen and Ink
What if you draw a little sketch
Maybe just a doodle of a man
In profile
And he turned to look
at you
And he had eyes that
sparkled
And a nose that smelt you
and ears that heard your
intake of breath
As he reaches his hands out
and his finger touches your cheek.
~ Harry Philbrick
What have you read lately that takes your breath away? This poem took mine.
Eliza Beth's photostream is full of delights, including the photograph above. This book is full of poems and absolutely amazing art by Peggy Preheim.

Reading that made me want to head to the art museum and spend endless hours staring at sketches and paintings. Did I ever tell you about the course I took there on the art of observation??? I think it would be something you would have loved. It taught me how over time perceptions change and how observation is truly an art. It was beyond neat.
I've been doing too much summer junk reading--and then I read something like this. OK. I'm ready to read for the brain and the heart again!
Beautiful!!!
Even greater than faith and hope is the ability and willingness to cultivate love. How do you cultivate love?
We can let go of impulses to judge others.
We can refuse to feel good about the mistakes
or sufferings of anyone.
We can live the lessons of Kindness.....
We can choose Love wherever and whenever we
are by simply making that choice."
Pierre Teilhard de Chardin
I loved this quote.........
I love all you share
Love Jeanne♥
Oh, how lovely......

Oh, my knees are shaking and my toes tingling...lovely, Relyn! Thanks for sharing this one...and that gorgeous image. I just shared a special quote at my place yesterday--something that sparks the soul. Happy Day :o)
I've got a pile of books screaming my name...most of them from this past weekend's used book sale at the library...
so soon....NEXT WEEK....my face will be in a book or two or three as many of them are poetry !
Lovely. When you look at great pieces of artwork, don't you get the feeling this happens?
such a sweet moment here today...actually these lyrics this morning:
I miss the years that were erased
I miss the way the sunshine would light up your face
I miss all the little things
I never thought that they’d mean everything to me
Yeah, I miss you
And I wish you were here
Lighthouse sings this
A lovely way to start the day! Thanks for that, Relyn!

Oh, I can see where those words would take your breathe away. Simply beautiful.
I must take notice of words that take my breathe away. I read last evening "secret anniversaries of the heart" and was reminded to remember little things that are anniversaries only to me of joys or sorrows.
yeah, me too......
....................................
such words....so beautiful...
These words so far today have been the best... Thank you!
thank you for sharing this poem--i can just imagine the delight were that really to happen. :)
Mary Oliver's poem, Aunt Leaf, takes my breath away.
You have a lovely blog!
oh, these words would be it. Breathless.
xo
My daughter and I are enjoying the inventions of Hugo Cabret, a Caldecott Medal book. It's filled with sketch art and some words too.
Fascinating story.
Hello! What a lovely blog you have! Thank you for visiting mine!
loved this!
Beautiful Relyn!!! I just finished reading the French Gardener by Santa Montefiore. Beautiful book with lots of gorgeous garden and love passages. It makes me wish I had an English estate with a cottage garden and a french gardener. Not too lofty, huh? Have a wonderful day~
Beautiful poetry. I recently saw A photography book called The Hand by Robert Frank, that took my breath away.
Whoops I mean "the Lines of My Hand"
I can totally understand why this took your breath away! Kind of like the land of make believe but yet real. Lovely!
Hi Relyn,
Thanks for your recent visits. I'm glad that you'd still like to accompany me on a walk. Can't promise the Andes though!
In my post today, I have linked to a friend's poem. Very beautiful imagery and startling words.
