Simple Pleasures

Today, I'm joining Christina in celebrating the simple things. Won't you please play along?

a kiss
child's smile
birthday cake
playing Barbies
building with Legos
a new, swishy haircut
singing the birthday song
coins on the laundry room floor
reading Pride and Prejudice again
being surprised by a field of poppies
a good book and a long, quiet afternoon
the smell of laundry just in from the line
a warm towel when you get out of the bath
wearing rings on your fingers and rings on your toes
the sweaty goodness you feel after a hard game of basketball
taking a book to the park and ending up napping under a tree
the first moment when you take off your bra after a long day
cherries popped into your mouth straight from the tree
an entire evening with nothing to do but blog
ripe tomatoes, still warm from the sun
wearing sparkly, dangly earrings
the freckles across Sloane's nose
a totebag full of library books
bare feet in dew-damp grass
finding a great new lipstick
a surprise in the mailbox
a hatbox full of ribbons
crepe paper streamers
cherry red toenails
well-shined shoes
vintage bicycles
Pandora.com
French toast
brown eggs
mixtapes
parasols
love
!!

All the amazing photography is by Ennui and used with permission.

This is such a wonderful, wonderful list. I'm smiling and nodding all the way through. Well-shined shoes and sun-warm ripe tomatoes and rereading Austen . . . all of it is dreamy.

Your list left me floating!!

fresh, in-season veggies, a walk on the beach (ocean or bay) at 7 pm - the crowds are gone, the sun has lost its ferocity, and the water is peaceful

Your list is fabulous! Let me add my Gypsy's soft fur-and-purr, a sunny quiet day at the lake, a campfire, fireworks, hearing only the wind in the trees and my feet on the road as I take a walk, fresh blueberries (or strawberries or cherries!)... I could go on forever!

Enjoy your time with Miss Robin! I'm jealous!

I call where we live " a bra free zone", we live in the middle of nowhere in a forest. There is neigbors but you can't see them as they are a few acres away. If we get company it usually just weekends. Love your new simple list. I must make another one soon too!
I posted my yo yo project...check it out!

Wonderful list Relyn.

Here is mine - from dawn to dusk

The call of the cuckoo at 3pm
A warm bed to snuggle more deeply into
The mynas (bird) prompting you to wake up
The smell of newsprint
A cup of hot tea
Toast with melted butter
The burst of red on the gulmohar trees, the glistening of green leaves fresh with raindrops
Smiles of colleagues at the workplace
A friendly email saying enjoy your day
The flow at work, the joy of getting tasks done and ticked off from to do lists
A good book to read
Blogs to see
Making friends on LinkedIn and sharing laughs
Waiting for a perfect weekend

Best,
Lubna

Hi Dear,
I agree with your list completely!
I have a personal one to add today ~ being told that you are wonderfully freakled like Doris Day! I don't know why that makes me happy, but it just does! I miss you and Sloane and Jeffrey too! Please come back to us soon!
Love you,
Katie
