What's on Your Fridge?

I find refrigerator doors to be fascinating. It's the first place I look when I'm in someone else's kitchen. It's fun to see what people put there; what and who they think is important. Like a socially acceptable version of medicine cabinet peeking. The insides of their fridges tell a lot, too. But, that's the subject for another post.

The picture above is the closest thing Team Lawson has to a typical refrigerator door. It isn't actually our fridge. We keep that clear and clean. Our kitchen is way, way too tiny to add any visual clutter. But. We have a constantly rotating art gallery on the door heading out to the garage. It's our refrigerator door, you might say. So come on. I showed you mine. Will you show me yours? What's on your fridge?

Such a fun post, Relyn! All your posts this month for NabloPoMo have been terrifically fun! Not sure if I dare show my fridge...along with the teeny, tiny kitchen, we have a teeny, tiny fridge--LOL! (Most appliances here are on the small side--I miss big American fridges!) But we do have magnets on it of all sorts, little notes. I love magnets, but don't cover the whole fridge with 'em ;o) Hope you & yours have a great weekend, my friend ((HUGS))

If I were home right now, I would have posted a picture of my fridge. But I'm not, so a description will have to do :). I agree with you about fridges (along with bathrooms) saying a lot about the people living in the house. On one side of ours, we display the children's artwork, held up by the various magnets we collect on our trips around the world. On the other side are school stuff - timetables, notices, etc. On the front of the fridge is the reward chart for the children (where each day they receive a sticker if they have achieved the agreed goals), my shopping list (which I add to as I think of things I need and then grab when I am out the door), and a series of pictures of my children taken three years ago. There is also a peg for holding up any important mail.

Lots and lots of fingerprints. Always. So thankful for a black fridge. :)

When my kids were home, there were papers and pictures...notes from school and a few magnets that the kids gave me. Now...I have a couple of pictures tucked around the side where they don't show and a small calendar on the front. I don't like the visual clutter either and my kitchen isn't small.

What's on my fridge? A post card from a very special little girl that I love that says:

Catch ya later! (with a person fishing)

How I have enjoyed her postcard!

It's funny for me right now since we're renting someone else's house for the fall. The fridge is covered with their magnets, their notepad, their calendar. Back at our place, we have our funny magnets, including my fave, which is one of those vintage-y ones; it shows a 1950's couple embracing, and she is saying, "Darling, let's go deeply into debt." I bought that for my husband when we bought our first house. It makes me smile every time I look at it. We also have loads of photos of the nieces and nephews and funny postcards from friends.

What a great post, Relyn! I haven't thought about my own kitchen much since we've been away this fall, but you just made me a teensy bit homesick! xoxo

Hi Relyn,

Well, usually there are several magnets, sometimes holding a postcard for a week or two, but nothing exciting!

Oh my goodness, I must run and see what mess is there. There are for sure some magnets, one of them is Marilyn Monroe, then there are two clips with recipes I want to try, another clip with a sheet of paper to write grocery items needed. There is a favorite picture of a special little boy. It is a mess!

yay! What a great post! Refrigerators and the window the the soul...Ours in also covered with children's artwork, lots of it. But I find my corner for my own little magnets that have quotes on them. My favorite is this one "What would you do if you knew you could not fail"

Our fridge is pretty clear. We do have some baby announcements and pictures of our nieces and nephews.

Speaking of whats in the fridge... yesterday I took out a very innocent looking tupperware container and in it was baby octopus! Baby octopus! Pickled. A snack for B. I forgot to take a picture and when I went back it had been eaten. My man is odd.

My fridge is covered in magnetic poetry...but I have combined the words to form my favourite quotes or little poems or words to live by...if the word isn't supplied, I just print out tiny words from my computer in different colours and fonts and add them to my messages.

That's a good challenge! I'll hold it for the first of the year! (Right now mine is the usual mix of family photos old and new, coupons, doc appointment cards and the odds-and-ends that end up there (note to self: Make one more low-fat pumpkin roll!
