This picture is of a younger me. Are you laughing now? Stop laughing!
No, of course it isn't me, but it feels like me.
Do you know what I mean?
Do you ever see pictures and you just know that they are of you? Maybe the alternate you. Or the you that you feel like.
Of maybe the picture just captures something in someone else that you recognize in yourself.
You know?
Well. This one is me.
Photo is from an unknown source. I swiped it years ago, before I understood blogging etiquette or ever gave thought to crediting photographers. I am sorry about that. I am. But, I still had to share it with you. If you know anything about the picture, I'd love to hear from you.

It looks just like you! How many times has your mom said, "Relyn, put that book down!"? If you can read, you can go anyplace in this world! I think it's wonderful that you read so much. Happy reading!
Funny I have a whole book of pictures..that are me..but not really.....I think I'll go get them. I know the feeling you are describing
oh you thrill me with your honesty and creativity...I hope someone knows something about the photo...she looks pretty cool
i've always felt that way when i see drawings of jo march
YES....I know....I really really know !
I had never thought of that, but you are right. I love the you that you see in her. I will be looking now for the me in others.
i have been wondering quite a lot lately about an alternate me, whatI would be like if I had chosen differently. I read a book recently and there was a character called Delilah in it I so wanted to be her I felt like her. I get you really.
you make me smile - always - and I like your alternative you too :)
oh yes. and not just pictures. characters in books (and rarely in movies) too.
Oh, I know exactly what you mean, Relyn... I see things, photos, films, books, a song or bit of music--anything really... that resonates so loudly. I look like more than I am...which is fun, mysterious and playful. I think we echo in, around and with other things all the time. It's wonderful to recognize the echos and feel that connection and belonging. Happy Day :o) ((HUGS))
That is sooo funny Relyn, because...in one of my groups of friends- I get teased unmercifully because any black and white photo from the 60's that has a little blond girl in it, I always say "that's me" It started when my friend actually had a rubber stamp of some kids- one blond girl was in an Indian costume- which I once had and I swore that was me- and now all pictures "are me"...so I get it! Have a good day!
You are so saucy, Relyn!!
I love that, Relyn! I had never really thought about it, but, yes! I do know what you mean!
How beautiful and lovely
Love you ♥
Well your mama should have taught you to keep your legs crossed! I know what you mean...I've spent a lifetime with a book in my hand.
Sue
I totally understand! love the photo
i know what you mean. even i see you in that photo.
I love this one, and I get what you're saying. I can relate to this picture, too. She's totally lost in her book, oblivious to everything around her. Isn't that the best thing?
This is too funny ... "saucy" indeed! Your friend above hit it right on the head.
i have had that feeling many times...so comforting to know that i am not the only one. love the pic!
She is every bit as beautiful as you, and, of course, she's reading a book. I so, so know what you mean, Relyn. I just bought a beautiful print of a painting from an artist who's blog I follow because the little girl in the print feels like me. When I look at her, I see me. Yes, your post makes so much sense to me. xoxo
My mom wouldn't have told me to put the book down (never!), but she would have told me to sit like a lady! Best reading picture ever? A former student brought in a picture of her 12 year old self sweeping the floor and reading a book at the same time. I could soooo identify!
I completely know what you mean. Completely.
Finding a picture like that, that speaks to something inside of you can be a real inspiration...to dig a little deeper and cultivate something new within yourself.
Know what I mean?
great photo...
and i love how you see yourself
in it...that's fantastic.
:O)
for me,
it's cartoon girls
with black bobbed hair
and bad attitudes...
ie dark and twisty...
then my whole family says
"thats totally you!!"
hahahhaha...
