Bouncy
Last weekend I took Sloane and her best friend, Lauren, to see Pinocchio. The girls and I were walking back to the car afterward when I spotted the most adorable little girl. She was bouncing along holding her momma's hand. Her coat was red and full over a swishy little dress. Her chubby legs were covered in thick tights and she had on patent leather Mary Jane's. She was full of so much delight that even her tiny pigtails bounced with her. It was late, late and dark, dark, but I knew I had to try and capture this adorable moment.
I can still hear the girls chattering excitedly about their favorite parts in the play as I kept snapping pictures in the low light. I remember thinking wistfully of the time when the girls beside me were as small and bouncy as the girl in front of me. I remember being thankful that my girls might be older, but they were still as bouncy as ever.
What's making you feel bouncy on this fine Saturday morning?

I heart this post!
The weather here is glorious, and Todd just left to spend the day with his folks in Western Mass, so I have a whole day to myself to throw open the windows, make a pot of tea, and write. Bliss!
Hope you're having a wonderful weekend! xoxo g
Hi Relyn,
Funny, I hadn't thought of bouncing today! But ours was a wet and miserable start, which is maybe why.
"The wonderful thing about Tiggers is Tiggers are wonderful things .."!
I'm not having a bouncy morning, because I stayed up too late last night, but had a bouncy night last night! We had our regular game night with the kids and stayed up way too late. That's why I'm not bouncy this morning, but oh what a good time we had with them last night.
I love that photo. I think you captured the moment perfectly. I am enjoying sunshine, birds singing and a cup of coffee this morning. It's may favorite way to start the day.
Awwwwww.
Why oh why do our little ones grow up? The good news is your girls were "still with mom". "Time waits for no one." - it's true.
Great photo!
Relyn,
It's the wonderful sweet sugary smell of maple syrup dribbling all over pancakes and sausage this morning. That's what has given me a bouncy!

The arrival of Spring and my husband's birthday is tomorrow.

Spring has sprung.

I love everything about this photo. It captures the feeling that you describe without being too "obvious".
What makes me feel bouncy? Watching Noah learn to crawl!
Happy weekend! xox
your photo depicts it so well ... the bouncy part here today was celebrating March birthdays ...
Funny you should ask...just came home from a new grocery store opening. I hate grocery shopping, but today people were smiling, laughing, joking with one another in spite of a store packed with people and carts.
A ragtime band was playing..you know the type, flat white hats, bow ties, red suspenders. Without a lie, people were bopping around the grocery store with their carts, little grey-haired ladies bopping, bobbing, swayin' their hips with delight.
I couldn't help myself...grinning, bouncing along, just swaggering...rockin' with that old time music.
Amazing energy.
It's crazy what magic music and sunshine can make.
So SWEET, Relyn : ) What a terrific word picture here...
just the weather today was making me bouncy
My girls are 21 and almost 18 and I LOVE the age they are now. I don't want them little again for sure, but I loved that bouncy, innocent, openly exuberant stage and so enjoy seeing it in other little kids! Thanks for sharing that and sparking a memory!
This is so sweet, Relyn! And I like the idea of the bouncy... Although today I'm afraid the bounce is still out of my bungee, as this cold I've had is still linger... *sigh*... LOL! Happy Weekend ((HUGS))
what a lovely image. thanks.
my daughter and i will be going to a ballet soon. can't wait. love to read your mommy-daughter posts.
xo
we had family over on saturday...so that made me feel bouncy.
The photo is charming and I can almost hear the little girl's chatter in the excitement of the evening.
Wonderful picture! I love moments like that. I'm always wishing I had a camera.
oh the weather and Taylor being home is making me feel bouncy.
i really love this photo - the dark light makes it all the more interesting with the fun shadows. isn't it interesting how the little girl's shadow is bigger than her mother's shadow. they seem to be skipping.
my saturday was bouncy as well. bouncy is good. and your capturing it is such a gift.
I love this photo, Relyn! I love that it's not literal, that it's key ingredient is emotion and that the details can be interpreted or not by the viewer as they choose. Bouncy? We are having summer weather in spring, daffodils everywhere, birds singing and bees buzzing – they are making me bounce out of my chair and into the garden throughout the day. But I have a mountain of photos to edit so I have to bounce back to my desk, too! Have a lovely week, dear. xo – g
I think you know what makes me feel bouncy right now ~ a whole week of SB! Blessings Dear One!
its sort of an unphotographable moment but with a hazy image to enahnce the loveliness!!! it sounded like a beautiful night!!! lovely thoughts
Oh...Spring Break is making me feel bouncy! Hopefully so bouncy I can get through the end of the year!
She sounds adorable. And I do love this photo - you can interpret so much from it, even without knowing the story.
I am not quite awake, so bouncy is not in my vocabulary just yet. ;)
Oh I love this post and I love this picture. I want a little bouncy girl.
You captured the essence of this moment beautifully!
gorgeous photo!
I was made buoyant by the arrival of polaroid film today!
Oh those pigtails were the first thing I noticed in your picture...so adorable!!
