some pleasures

a good book
fresh flowers
blog browsing
Anthropolgie catalogs
a gently scented candle
listening to movie themes
a good piece of dark chocolate
writing on thick paper with a good pen
watching a sweet, sappy movie
spotting the first daffodil
a letter from a friend
interesting stamps
a pile of magazines
piano music
long emails
kisses
What is delighting you tonight?

What a sweet post, Relyn! We had some devastating news tonight--not for us, but for one of my mum's friends--and none of us can quite comprehend it. I'm going to try to post about it, but don't know if I can. So, nothing's delighting tonight, but blogs are comforting, and the warm weight of a cat in my lap, and the sound of my husband snoring softly beside me.

Big hugs,
Gigi

Love that list! :) I'm reading a book by an author who is new to me and rather enjoying it so far. And in a few I'll cuddle up with the hubs and hopefully drift away into a peaceful night's sleep. :)

a perfect list! on my list tonight are: zee avi's music; giggling about silly things with friends; first asparagus of the season; assembling a care package; and ordering flowers online for the first time.

watching my little crumb light up with delight as petals from a dogwood tree fall upon her hair as she exclaims, "rain flowers mama!"

I'll have to say: watching for the first pink tulip, my bed after a long day at my desk, a few free hours with no expectations, and a job well done. Thanks for making me think positive!

Loved your list, especially "writing on thick paper with a good pen." This morning it's procratinating while I read my favorite blogs.

Have a wonderful day!

Delighting me? Your lists...always good. I'd like to know what you think of that book too. I just picked it up from the bookstore, but I haven't started it yet.

Relyn,

Love this list! Mine would be something like:

dark room

I love your list (well, stamps don't do much for me)! I would add:

-playing with a puppy
-a sleeping baby snuggled in your arms
-a rainbow
-the smell of the first spring rain
-a hot air balloon flying high above
-the smell of coffee when you open a new package or grind the first beans
-clean sheets

I love your list and so many things on your list also delight me. Piano music is one I didn't like for a long time, but have learned to love. I think it was all the piano lessons I took as a child.

Well, since I'm working late on a photo submission for a client and D is out of town on biz, I would say that your post, and all its loveliness, is one of the best sources of delight I have tonight! Wonderful, as always! :) – g

Relyn-your blog delights me. I'm sitting here trying to tune into what is it exactly that it is about you that draws me to your blog.
I sense a pureness, genuineness, lightness and effortlessness.
Tonight I sit in that sweet space that happens after a great few days with my children but now they have gone back to their homes and I feel free to languish in the mellowness of this moment.

Hello Relyn,

Absolutely love your ten lists of ten. Now, I'd like to participate.
Books on my list are: " A Dog's Life by Peter Mayle, and "A Year in Provence".

"Ten Ways to Take Care of Yourself"
I'd write:
Cooking up a new recipe or a tried and true comfort food, the smell of pasta and tomato sauce, delicious!
Watch a comedy movie, Laughter is the best spirit uplifter.

Oldies, but Goodies
