Sunday Morning Poetry

the trees are on fire

"We think differently at night"
she told me once

lying back languidly

And she would quote Cocteau

"I feel there is an angel in me" she'd say
"whom I am constantly shocking"

~ Lawrence Ferlinghetti

I imagine many of us have an angel that is constantly shocked. Beautiful fall color in the picture.

I like how a lot of possibilities seem to spin from this passage - how is the angel shocked? Is it ever shocked in a pleasant way, or only scandalized, or maybe just struck dumb one way or another... and who is that angel anyway?

Or perhaps an angel that simply shakes her head and says, "There she goes again..." :)

And what a gloriously delicious tree!

haha... I love that--"I feel there is an angel in me" she'd say
"whom I am constantly shocking"... I feel like that at times myself. ;o) GORGEOUS photo today, Relyn... I often think of autumn trees as symbols of love burning bright in nature. Happy Day, my friend ((HUGS))
