Yesterday, our school had Superhero Day. All the students were encouraged to dress up as their favorite superhero. Or, even better, their real life super hero.
Sloane told me that she wanted to dress up as a teacher because "teachers are for sure SUPER heroes." Awwww... YAY!
So, I helped her. Lent her my clipboard and whistle. She asked to wear my name tag and I gave her that, too. She wore her cutest skirt and polished her new glasses.
A few minutes after we got to school, Sloane's teacher stuck her head in my room. She said, "I love it that Sloane came to school dressed as you."
WHAT?!??!
Sloane told me later. "Mommy, I'm not just any teacher. I'm you. My own superhero."
What do you say to that? How does one respond to such a gift?
Me?
I said, "Thank you, Lord. Thank you."

Oh how fabulous! Write it down in the memory book (someday she'll be a teenager and you might need a heart hug).
No greater compliment could be afforded you than the one Sloane gave you. I am proud of the both of you. I love you. Aunt Rita
First of all.... a big THANK YOU for post.. 3 sweet comments all at once! Yes, it's a shame this seems to be our only means of communication. Sloane told me she was going to be a teacher for Super Hero Day. She's had the perfect role model.... Also, your photos are absolutely fantastic! Way to go girl! So glad you're finding such a wonderful avenue for all that creativity you've got bubbling up. xo dulcy
