in the past few days

Sloane has strep throat and a raging ear infection, so we are home for the day. It's actually been a hard few days. Which, of course, means that it is time to count my blessings.

No one was hurt, though we are very sad about the deer and the $500 deductible.

Sloane had a wonderful birthday party in spite of a terrible ear infection.

The family I recently photographed loved their pictures, too.

I am also thankful for a day at home with Sloane, even if she is sick. What about you? What are you thankful for today?

Sorry to hear about Sloane's throat-but glad you had a good day at home together! Love her outfit for the party. Glad nobody was hurt in the car too-it looks bad!
Thank you for all your comments-I am thankful for those, and thankful to get home tonight at last. I also really enjoyed the fog and frost we had this morning!

Get well soon Sloane!

Bless your heart! Looks like quite a few days you've had there. Sorry about the car. Been there, done that. No fun.
Hate to hear that Sloane is ill. :( Strep, ear infections, viruses, you name it...it's going around here, too. Hope you enjoy the rest of the day with her as well. It's always good to have a little down time with our sweet babies. :)

I am thankful for much on the this gray and dreary day. Grateful for the rain that's helping to knock down the brush fires south of us. Grateful for my kids' good health (At the moment it is good! It can turn on a dime.) and for the upcoming holidays that we're planning to spend with lots of family and friends.

Thank you for the reminder. :) I need to spend more time on gratitude.

I am so thankful that my children are alive and well. Thank you, thank you.

A very dear friend lost a 17 month old granddaughter in a car accident two days ago. My heart is broken.

Seven parts of this precious child will be used to save other children. Goodbye, Taylor Grace. Your heartbeat will live on.

Sick days can be really really special days together, so there's that to be thankful for.

I am thankful for the blog world and for reminders to be grateful, even when it's not easy. Your post, these comments, gave me that today. Thank you!

So sorry that cute-as-a-bug girl is sick -- I hope she's back in order soon.

As for me, today I am grateful for a day off as well, one spent setting up for my art show. It was lovely to operate at my own pace and with loveliness all day long!

The deer are busy this time of year...I'm happy to hear that no one got hurt. Our news channel even had a special on deer accidents yesterday...

I hope she feels better soon. She has to be hurting. Sorry about your car and the deer.
Not good timing, right.
I hit a deer once and he kept running. My son jumped out of the car chasing it and yelling at me for hitting it. Wow, that was an experience.

I'm sorry your baby was sick and thankful you can stay home with her! I loved staying home from school with my kids. Except for the 'sick' part!

I'm thankful you weren't harmed
in the run-in with the deer
and that Sloane has a safe, loving,
soft place to get well.
And that you get to dote on her
until the antibiotics work
their wonder.
(THANK GOD for antibiotics!)
Enjoy these times when you can
hold her near when she feels unwell.

Thankful for an eye exam that went well, a friend from the west coast that is visiting and that the deer by the road today stayed put.

And that you are all safe and the Sloane is recovering.

I am also thankful you didn't get hurt. I hope Sloane is feeling better tonight.

Today for myself I am thankful I had a day to pull together lose ends, plan Thanksgiving menu, plan two tea parties I do in December, and write my Christmas letter. And thankful for the time to visit you and hold my purry Joey in my lap.

I hope she gets well soon; good at least that she was still able to enjoy her birthday. And I'm relieved none of you got hurt while in the car.

I love how you respond to these stressful events by thinking about all the good things that are going on in your life. It's such a great attitude to have.

That's one of the things that makes me thankful - knowing good people like you :) I'm thankful for family and friends being alive and being who they are, and for being alive myself.

I am thankful for the strength that the Lord gave me tonight to get a bunch of my Christmas shopping done after work. I am tired and weary, but so thrilled to have that much done.

I am so sorry about your accident and that Sloane is so sick. I hope all is much better in the very near future. I'm thankful that you were able to stay home with her today. I love you!

PS: I wish you could have been here to make our family photos when the kids were here. The photo you took of your friends is really good. You are really getting good at the photography thing!!! Jen and I were talking about it tonight.

I'm so sorry that your baby girl is sick. I'm praying she's feeling better really soon.

The deer hit the car? I seriously am not use to driving in a state where there are deer crossing signs. I panic now when I do. It reminds me that when I least expect it....Glad no one was hurt!

I'm so very thankful to God for blessing me with a job after being unemployed for almost 2 years.

Oh, my dear lady, I am breathing a huge sigh of relief that you are all fine! But so sympathize with Sloane – strep is just awful, miserable. I'm very happy her birthday was wonderful in spite of being sick – she looks adorable in that photo! I'm extra appreciative that with all this happening you are so thoughtful to visit and leave such lovely words. Thank you and sending love and a big hug to all of you. xo – g

Today, I am grateful that it is a short work day...and it's raining outside! I can sit by my window and watch the drops fall as I finish my book. bliss.

Thank you, Relyn, for a beautiful post. Oh I've had the "dear deer" experience, too. Relieved you are safe even if it left you feeling like a deer caught in the headlights. Scary stuff being hit by a deer....

I'm so very thankful for your visit to my blog, Relyn. I'm thankful for blogging and how it brings new friends, fresh insights and delicious courage. I got my skirt from Pyramid. Yummy, yummy and more yummy clothes in there!

So sorry your little one is unwell, missing school, missing most of the fun of pre-holiday crafts. Glad to know nobody got hurt in that deer scrape. Time to slow down and take in the blessings we do have in our lives. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
