Why Don't You...

Sweet Dreams

... commit to a weekly artist date?
... schedule time alone each week to do something you love? Write it in your calendar. In pen.
... treat yourself to a massage, a pedicure, or a new lipstick?
... set a timer for 10 minutes and list all the things you like to do that don't cost a cent. Schedule one a week for the next few months. Keep these dates with yourself.
... go to a bookstore, gather a pile of magazines, order something at the cafe, and enjoy the next hour.
... go to your local historical museum. You might be surprised at how much you learn. And how much fun you have.
... check your local library for their next free concert and go.
... head to a big playground that's not near your house. Swing and slide and spin until you've forgotten how old you really are. Better yet, till you know it doesn't matter anyway.
... drive to your favorite part of town and go for a long walk.
... visit an art supply shop and spend $10 on the thing that made your eyes light up.
... go to the movies by yourself. On a school night. Buy the big tub of popcorn.
... buy a big box of crayons and a new coloring book or two. Put on some great music and spend an hour coloring. Yes, you. Coloring.
... send the family out so you can stay piled up in bed with a great book and some chocolate covered peanuts.

Oh, I LOVE all of these ideas, Relyn! This past weekend hubby & I visited a great art supplies place, as we are both painting again... we spent more than $10 ;o) Every Tuesday afternoon since the New Year I have an artist date--I write, journal, create in my art journal or on a canvas--whatever takes my fancy--as long as I create something. This time has transformed my week, my year! Happy Days, my friend ((HUGS))

I just want to crawl into that pretty bed and pretend I don't have a care in the world!

You should never be too old to color! And, as usual, all your ideas sound simply fabulous!

Great ideas, Relyn! And that photograph is so pretty! Was that lampshade once a hat? And I like the heart shape on the back of the chair. What a romantic room...sigh...

Yes, this list is delicious! I use to have a list like this when my children were young and I was a stay at home mom with no money to spend. I need to make a new list just for me. Thanks for the inspiration today. I would love to climb in bed with great books and chocolate covered peanuts and send the rest of the household far, far away for a few hours.

Switch the chocolate peanuts for raisins, and you have my Friday night. :)

Oh how deliciously indulgent and fun your suggestions are, and your bedroom photo is so delicate and peaceful I could just fall into it and take a little nap after any of the wonderful activities.

Think I'll go get my crayons and coloring book right now. Glad to see that I'm not the only one who enjoys it and it relaxes me too.

I laughed when I saw this list. I was just thinking that it's been ages since I treated myself to a movie! Now I think I'll definitely do that this weekend.

Love you. I've been dying to get over here, but I'm pulled in a million directions right now, so it's good to finally be here!!!! xoxo g
