turns out, I needed a nudge...

My husband asked me the other day if I was losing interest in and passion for blogging.  I said, "No, what makes you ask?"  He mentioned that I don't do it as much and don't comment as much.  He's right and that got me to thinking.  I love blogging!  I miss blogging.  I began by listing all the reasons I haven't been blogging as much. And, you know what?  Each reason was work, chores, or movies.

I love my work, and the chores aren't going any where.  It just takes time and effort to keep a home running and a family happy.  I really don't mind that.  But, the time wasting?  The Netflix addiction?  That needs to change.

Why do I let my own intertia keep me from doing what I love?  I know that we all have things we must do. And, I am not advocating abandoning responsibilities.  But, what about the rest?  I've been thinking:

How often do I fill up my time with unnecessary things?
How often do I watch a Netflix simply because it arrived today?
How often do I waste time?  I am not talking about relaxing.  I am talking about brain dead watching that I regret later.

Too often.  Much, much too often.
So, thanks, Jeffrey, for the reminder.  It's time I quit wasting so much time.
It's time I get back to blogging. It's time I spend my time well.  This life is too short and far too precious to spend at the movies.

See you soon, friends.  I've missed you.

I used to need nudges to get me going on my blog, too. But over the years I've come to look at blogging as something healthy that is vital to my well being.

I need to blog for my mind/spirit as much as I need to exercise & eat right for my body. Once I figured that out, blogging on a regular basis became easy and perfectly normal for me. Which kind of amazes me now that I think about it. ;-)

And I miss you!
I often start to sit in front of the TV and then I say will my life be enriched by sitting here watching. Most of the time the answer is NO. I do wish I watched an occasional movie though. Take care with the readjusting and coming back to blogging. I so appreciate the friendships here.

I think all Bloggers wrestle with the time issue. Blogging is my therapy and I crave the support and encouragement I receive from my blogging friends. I have the "need" to blog, but I enjoy me some TV too. It doesn't have to be one or the other - all things in moderation. :-)

And we miss you!

But you know, sometimes you've just got to take a moment for you--to sit, unwind, do a whole lot of nothing.

It's the whole balancing act that can be tricky!

Had to laugh gently over the Netlflix addiction. :o) My hubby & I ditched our TV during the summer as part of a big downsizing of possession. We still watch something occasionally via the net, but our viewing time has been reduce significantly. I love blogging and I still post twice a week. And I enjoy connecting with friend via this medium. But blogging is definitely changing. I've been blogging for almost 7 years now. People are posting less less days, it seems. And people are visiting/reading blogs less--even blogs they really enjoy, people they enjoy. Quality interaction via blogging is happening less. I think social media is killing blogging. I feel like a dinosaur sometimes! haha... Anyway, lots of opinions on all that! But I am so glad you're here, whenever you want to be. Happy Weekend, my friend ((HUGS))

I've missed you! Hope to see you blogging more.
I cut down the number of Netfilx we get, but I admit that I'd spend my life reading if I could.

I haven't done as much blogging either. But mine is more because I'm working on a memoir, being an expert for YourTango.com, and trying to build my fledgling life artistry coaching business. I've recently come back to blogging, renewed. . .and am visiting more often.

We all need a nudge every now and again Relyn.
I blog spasmodically, but I often think of my wonderful blogging friends and enjoy reading their interesting articles.
Much love

I'm glad Jeffrey gave you the nudge, but after looking over your blog, I seem to be the lax one. Our Netflix movies tend to gather dust, but I can find time to play Words with Friends or simply do nothing way too often. I'm glad you're back...!

oh Relyn....I don't know.....I think it makes your posts that much more precious when you've written because you really have something to write.....there's an ebb and a flow to true art, doncha think?

To be honest, I'm not a fan of the blogs that seem to be 'marathon blogs'...writing just to write....to get to that 100th post or whatever.....

....and please *please* whatever you do, don't write for someone else, because someone else thinks you should be writing more.....write because you want to write, *when* you want to write....that's the good stuff....*that's* the stuff I come around here for.....

you and your beautiful soul, Relyn, don't forget it...be ok with the ebbs and flows....

much love,
Liz

...and p.s.....

sometimes ya need to just sit and watch a really good movie....it's one o' the 'little things' in life...gives your brain a little break....that's ok. count this as your permission slip to check out and chill out when ya need to....some seasons of our lives we need to do that more often....let yourself off the hook.

Oldies, but Goodies
