At This Moment...

I'm still at work. It's 6:30. School was out hours ago.
I should be busy and productive. I'm not. I'm putzing.
And piddling.

Do you piddle?

Sheesh! I wanna go home!! I don't wanna work!
So, go home, you say. Oh, but I can't. Because.
I do have a good reason, you know.

I have plans this weekend.

Birthday plans. Yes, I know. My birthday was back in September.
We believe in delayed gratification around here.
Big plans, though. And perfect timing.

Just when I am going nuts with an early-onset of Spring Fever.

Just when I think I can't take one more inside recess.
One more day of forty second graders in one room.
God, save me from inside recess. Give me grace.

Just exactly now - when I need it most - my weekend away arrives.

Jeffrey and I are off to explore a new-to-me small town.
We're off to visit bookstores where we've never been and thrift stores as-yet unexplored.
We're off to be alone to walk and talk and hold hands.

We're off to eat Indian and anything else that catches our fancy.

We're off to see a Neil Simon play I've never seen.
Do you know about my passion for theater? My love of Neil Simon?
This is a good present. And perfect timing.

Just when I need it most.

And, the weather is perfect. Perfect I tell you.
Life is so beautiful, I bet we get daffodils this weekend.
It's nearly spring and I have this thing with daffodils.

But first, I must work. I must. I really must.

Have a lovely weekend!

Every time I see a daffodil I think of Wordsworth's poem and my dear departed friend who loved them so.

I hope you've had a wonderful weekend. It sure sounds like it will be. I don't piddle as much as I used to because I'm working again. Lots. Mixed blessings. But I love my weekends. That's when I piddle.

I love this post. I can so identify with wanting to go home . . . like right now. It's about 60 degrees outside and I'm stuck inside my office wanting to be outside with my camera . . . especially now that most of the snow is gone!!
Thanks Relyn for all your comments on my blog. Much appreciated.

Oh I hope your weekend was positively blissful Relyn! Did you see any daffodils? Someone recently told me that the original name for them was daffydowndilly's. Isn't that cute?
