I just love this photo! It speaks to me of motherhood.
Look at her face, the direction of her eyes.
All her attention is on her baby, the love of her life, nestled there on her hip.
He's curious; busy looking around, wondering about the woods,
noticing everything, paying attention to my camera.
But, Momma? Momma is doing what all mothers do.
She's already looked ahead to be sure of where she's going.
She checked around for danger. She'll keep to the path.
Now she can take a moment, pause, breathe deeply...
and enjoy her baby, her life, this perfect moment.
For 20 seconds she can be still and know that all she ever wanted is in her arms, right now.

August Break, day 9. Photo: Last Wednesday was my first photoshoot with a baby. It was great fun, and a big success, especially when you consider that it was still 92 degrees at 7:20 pm. You wouldn't believe the pile of stuff I hauled along just in case. We had to use Sloane's little red wagon to bring it all. Of course, I wanted that for the photos anyway.

Hi Relyn,
Obviously, you didn't ask him to smile for the camera?! Hope you all had a super time.
Beautiful picture. I love your caption.
Did you have someone take a picture of you doing the "flamingo stand". Hah
Be careful doing that......and don't eat too much shrimp.
Thanks for stopping by. ((((HUGS))))
I think you captured motherhood perfectly too! Your words are as expressive as the photo...If this was a taste of the photoshoot you must have done a fantastic job!
beautiful photo. your words and image truly do speak of motherhood. i hope we'll see more from your photoshoot.

so very true ..you captured the essence of mommy
You captured one of my favorite types of photos... the from-behind shot of a mom holding her child. And you did it so well, both in words and image.
I have a photo hanging in my room at home. A photographer friend of mine shot it in Africa. Mother and child from behind. I fell in love with it, just as I have with yours.
Such a beautiful photo and the description is perfect and brings a lump to my throat. She must make the most of being able to hold on to him like that - blink, and that cute little baby will be like my son, a 16 year old young man. Still just as gorgeous but in a very different way!
So precious! Those eyes ... those CHEEKS! I just want to kiss them ...
Beautiful words capturing motherhood--as one who's children are about gone--that 20 seconds you can be still is all you ever have!
oh, that is beautiful. i love it!
Lovely blog you have! I'm stopping by because a friend and I are planning something for Dawn of Spontaneous Clapping, and we had asked her for a list of her favorite blogging peeps. I'd love to give you more information but couldn't find a contact email and we don't want to spill the beans with Dawn out there reading. :) Would you mind contacting me via lemonademakinmama@comcast.net when you have time and I'll fill you in?
Thanks so much
Sasha
