Sloane and I always snuggle together and read a bit before lights out. Last night she snapped her graphic novel shut and looked up at me with a disgusted expression. "Man! Shakespeare sure is weird." she said.The book? Romeo and Juliet.
Maybe she's right.

Oh, that is so sweet, and so funny too! But you know, she may be young, but she is bold enough to say what she thinks--I like that! And, when you stop and think about it, there is a LOT of weirdness in Shakespeare. So many convoluted plots, so much drama, dysfunction, toxic characters... I think I'm just at a point where I want positive stories! haha... That photo is adorable, Relyn--what a cutie-pie! Happy Weekend to you & yours ((HUGS))
Funny! I love the fact that children can just say what they think honestly without years of knowledge hanging over them and getting in the way!

Those sweet faces greeting me each morning would make my heart jump with JOY. I sat with my snow cone this week watching sweet faces dance in the Beverly Cleary fountain.
Love that Sloane would think to comment on Shakespeare like that. She is so perceptive.

She is such a little doll. I'm trying to imagine my child reading Shakespeare at that age...nope, can't imagine it. She was very much into the Goosebump books at that age.
