thank God for the music

she greets the world with arms flung wide

Sloane and I were
dancing around the kitchen
in our socks.

We were mad.
We were wild.
We were whirling dervishes.

And, as I paused to catch my breath,
I realized just how long it had been
since I danced for the sheer joy of the music.

And I wept a little
with gratitude
to feel so good again.

You know my daughter and I still do this when we have the chance. I really think music and lift you out of anything negative that might be around you! Enjoy the moments. I hope nothing is wrong that had taken away your joy.

My daughter and I used to always do that when she was little...I found myself doing that the other night, and truly it felt really good! Warm hugs and smiles to you! xxoo

That makes me happy to hear that. Glad to see Sloane, I have been worried that something was wrong with her. Keep on dancing.

Dancing in the kitchen like whirling dervishes is a rite of passage for all moms and their little girls. So glad you felt the joy of the moment and let yourself go!

The ONLY time i dance is in my kitchen, not much of a dervish, I'm afraid! Bet you & your daughter had fun with it!

Kicking up my heels and swishing the skirt along with you, Relyn. ;o) So glad you're feeling better and appreciating life's party more. I dance and do a lot more spontaneous movement these day. We forget our bodies were made to enjoy...even if our hearts & minds are heavy. ((HUGS))

this is beautiful...
your dancing, your weeping to feel so good again, your relationship in it, your eyes to see + body to be. ~

Oh, I love it! And music can be a bit like magic in its ability to heal . . .

Hurray! Music can be such a great pick me up and a release, can't it? This past week, I found reggae music to be a good antidote to the winter blues. If I can't go to Jamaica, Jamaica can come to me!

That's beautiful.

Music really is a blessing. And it's something I like to do too around the house - dance :)

I hope you keep feeling good about life.

glad you were given wings
to dance it out
...."dance on it",
a phrase I use when I'm
overwhelmed and undone.
Well, I used to.
Thanks for the reminder
to twirl:)
