Sunday Morning Poetry

The Rider
A boy told me
if he roller-skated fast enough
his loneliness couldn’t catch up to him,
the best reason I ever heard
for trying to be a champion.
What I wonder tonight
pedaling hard down King William Street
is if it translates to bicycles.
A victory! To leave your loneliness
panting behind you on some street corner
while you float free into a cloud of sudden azaleas,
pink petals that have never felt loneliness,
no matter how slowly they fell.

That's a great poem, a keeper to my poetry file. Is that you on the bike? Great picture too.

The thought of this has captured my thoughts now. I wondered if running, biking, working fast, fly fast would all keep the loneliness away. Yes, I think maybe so and I will be thinking on this. I know when I fly away or drive away to play the loneliness forgets to follow me.

Love that image, Relyn, of leaving loneliness panting behind you! I hope you had a blessed Mother's Day!

Hi Relyn! Thanks for your checking in and commenting at my blog. I looked at stats and they said I had views still so I thought I might give it another go but not as often. As you have stated above, comments really feed the fire ;)
